"My time on Aeroshell at UBC Solar has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I've gained tons of real world engineering knowledge and skills (like SolidWorks and CFD Analysis) that a classroom wouldn't have taught me. The team is an amazing environment for everyone to grow, learn and have fun at the same time."

What does
Aeroshell do?

The Aeroshell team focuses on the vehicle’s 5 meter by 2 meter outer carbon fiber body. Members use tools like SolidWorks Surfacing and Ansys Fluent to understand how different airfoils affect the aerodynamics of car. Furthermore, we also deal with material selection, manufacturability, and integration with other sub-teams. Members will gain a strong understanding of composite materials, fluid mechanics, and vehicle dynamics. Precision is key for this team to ensure that every external edge of the car is perfect.
