MEET THE TEAM

TeamLeads

Hey, I’m Chris a current 2nd year ELEC student! I joined solar in September 2025 and have learned lots about PCB design, embedded firmware and safety critical thinking. I’ve had tons of fun designing and testing parts of our V4 electrical system. It’s been a super rewarding experience working with the team, and I’m looking forward to more!

What is BMS Looking For?

What does
BMS do?

We are seeking motivated students entering 1st, or 2nd year to join our Battery Management Systems (BMS) team this summer.  We are just starting to manufacture our V4 battery pack. You will help us integrate our BMS system with the battery, performing firmware and hardware testing to ensure the system works 100% of the time. You will get experience testing the interface between the battery and the other LV and HV electrical components throughout the new car. Apply to BMS if you are a curious learner who would enjoy solving system-wide electrical challenges. In BMS, you will learn PCB design, write safety-critical firmware, and gain hands-on skills and experience for everything that goes into assembling a full battery pack!

The Battery Management Systems (BMS) team focuses on the battery control systems and electronics to ensure the vehicle’s battery maintains safe operating conditions. The team also works on supplemental circuitry in the form of relays, switches, and power distributors. The team works with electrical diagrams, PCB design, and software to make a safe and reliable operating system. Tasks include a span of electrical and firmware design projects, while making key decisions about the feasible performance, safety, and structure of the vehicle’s battery.
