UBC Solar’s Business Team is recruiting a small group of driven students to take our 4th generation car to Topeka, Kansas in July 2027 and win the Formula Sun Grand Prix. We are looking for people entering their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year who want real ownership and are prepared to stay through the 2027 summer competition.

The team will likely be 5-6 people, and every member will own work that directly affects whether the car gets built, funded, tested, and raced, as well as support the team's energy and bonding experience.

On the Marketing Side:

• 📷 Capturing and editing videos and photos for YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn

• 💡 Designing unique and engaging content served to a variety of stakeholders (e.g., potential sponsors, prospective members, alumni)

• 💻 Update and expand our website with many new pages (e.g., sustainability, competition)

You will also collaborate closely with Finance and the Executive team to host events, ranging from World Cup nights to networking forums like our recent startup incubator event with Althra. Check out our social media and website to see some of our work!

Our Finance team drives Solar forward by managing our $150,000 budget and funding the entire operation. New members will sync directly with engineers on purchasing, manage financial ledgers, and collaborate with partners like the AMS for events and funding. A major focus this Summer is outreach; you will network with entrepreneurs, organize joint events with Marketing and Execs, like our recent Althra incubator event, and actively pitch sponsors. We secured over $60,000 in sponsorships in the Summer, and we aim to secure at least $20,000 this Fall term.
