"Hi! I'm a fourth year mechanical engineering student co-leading Structures! I'm currently leading the design and manufacturing of the chassis for our fourth generation vehicle. I get to work with an amazing multidisciplinary team and have learned so much from applying the knowledge from my engineering courses!"
The Structures team is responsible for vehicle structures. The team deals with vehicle form, crash safety, component placement, and validates designs using complex FEA to simulate a variety of vehicle conditions and crashes. Understanding of static mechanics is a necessity while minimizing vehicle weight, profile/size, and finding the critical balance between ergonomic efficiency and structural triangulation.
