VDX

Whatwe do

The Vehicle Dynamics Team (VDX) engineers the suspension, steering, and braking systems that define the car’s on-track performance. Designs are grounded in vehicle dynamics and executed through detailed CAD modelling and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). VDX emphasizes stiffness, weight optimization, and precise control of load paths to extract performance. Most components are manufactured in-house, ensuring design decisions are informed by real mechanical constraints. The result is a tightly integrated system built to perform at the limit.

MEET THE TEAM

TeamLeads

Being on VDX for a solar car racing team is one of the highlights of my university experience. Seeing designs start to end and building it myself has been the most rewarding experience.

4th Year Mechanical Engineering

I'm a third year Mechanical Engineering student passionate about motorsport. I joined the team in the Summer of 2025 and have learned so much since then. I am excited to see to development and completion of our fourth generation vehicle, Cascadia!
